We send out runners in Tipperary, Bellewstown and across the water in Perth today.
Kicking off with Tipperary, FILS D’OUDAIRIES represents us in the Grade 3 Grimes Hurdle. A winner of this race back in 2023, he hasn’t quite showed the same spark this season but is capable of running big races and picking up a cheque. Jack Kennedy.
COSMOS D’AINAY makes is debut over flights in the O’Driscolls Irish Whiskey Maiden Hurdle. An impressive 14 length winner of his bumper last time out in Sligo, he looks set to make an impact at the business end of today’s contest with Jack Kennedy onboard.
We saddle 3 runners in the Easyfix Handicap Hurdle. PENNY EXPRESS makes his handicap debut after 3 promising runs in maiden hurdles where he was placed each time. The trip should suit and we’re hoping for a big run with Jack Kennedy booked to ride. IRINA’S PATH also makes his handicap debut here today. He was a runner up in maiden hurdles last summer but took a keen hold on his seasonal reappearance last time out. Hopefully he will settle better here today under Jordan Gainford. THEMANINTHEBOOTS is having his first run back since July 2024. He’s in great form at home and will certainly come on for the ride. Jake Coen rides.
In Bellewstown we have two runners on the flat. WHISPERING HOPES steps up in trip in the Apprentice Handicap. She was well held the last day in Navan over 1m5f and should hopefully show a better account of herself today as she was previously 4th over course and distance last summer. Julian Pietropaolo rides.
In the QR Race we send out ARCH EMPIRE. Third in Leopardstown last time out he should be able to put in another solid performance today under Harry Swan.
Across the pond in Perth our first runner is POWER OF WORDS in the 2m4f maiden hurdle. Fourth on his racecourse debut at Fairyhouse over 2m3f, he should appreciate the slight step up in trip and this looks an ideal opportunity for him to get on the scoreboard under Kevin Sexton.
HARDY DIAMOND runs in the 2m4f handicap chase. She was a shade disappointing here the last day when well held over 2m7f on her handicap debut. The drop back in trip should be to her benefit and we are hoping to see plenty of improvement from her. Kevin Sexton rides.
