We’re having our last runners before Christmas as we head to Thurles and Ascot
Our first runner of the day in Thurles is HARDY DIAMOND in the Moloney Cup Handicap Chase. She stayed on well to finish 6th here the last day over 2m6f behind Rising Dust who she opposes again today and and the step back up in trip will certainly benefit her. Jack Kennedy rides.
ST FAZ switches back to hurdles today as he contests the WTW Willis Handicap Hurdle. He has been running consistently since joining the yard and this could be a good opportunity for him to finish in the frame under Jack Kennedy.
In the 2m6f maiden hurdle we run HE CAN’T DANCE. A useful sort in his bumpers, he has finished in the placings on his two hurdling starts to date and we’re hoping the addition of a tongue tie will help him take a step forward. Jack Kennedy rides.
In the mares bumper we have SOUND JUDGEMENT who is currently a second reserve. If she gets into todays race she will be ridden by Josh Williamson.
Over the water in Ascot we have two runners.
FIREFOX represents us in the Howden Graduation Chase. A Grade 2 winner on his seasonal reappearance in Down Royal, he should be capable of making an impact again today as he steps up in trip to 2m5f. Sean Bowen takes the ride.
HONESTY POLICY makes his seasonal reappearance in the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle. He was a progressive hurdler last season who landed the Grade 1 Mersey Novice Hurdle at Aintree before finishing second in a Grade 1 contest at the Punchestown festival. He is the only horse in the field who has not had a run under his belt so far this season but if he can replicate last season’s form then he should be in the mix. Mark Walsh rides.
