SLIGO & BELLEWSTOWN

We have 6 runners who travel to Sligo today for Sligo Racecourses all chase meeting and of course their penultimate meeting of the year.

Our 1st runner of the day is FAUX FUR in the opening mares beginners chase at 1.15pm. She has run really well in 4 completed starts over fences and has gained some vital experience that hopefully she can put to good use today, taking on 7 other rivals. Stepping down in trip, she is not short of pace and with a clear round of jumping, hopefully she can go close with Danny Gilligan on board.

VALSORPRESA is our next runner in the “Lough Gill Beginners Chase” over the extended 2m 1f trip. He ran a cracker on his debut over fences in Perth and should be able to build on that experience. Stepping back in trip today, he has been in fantastic form at home and has the benefit of Danny Gilligan on board.

PURSE PRICE lines up in the Novice Handicap Chase, a winner over fences in the early part of the summer, she has been slightly below par recently. She has her usual tongue strap on and cheek pieces are reapplied in the hope that they will bring about some improvement. Jordan Gainford take over the reins.

In the fifth race the Handicap Chase over 2m 5f, GENERAL HUBBLE is back over fences for his third chase start. He drops back in trip today, and has his usual cheek pieces on and it would be lovely to see him run a big race for the Power family. Jordan Gainford takes the ride for the first time.

In the 4.10pm the “Christy “Frosty” Callaghan Memorial Chase”, THE FRIDAY MAN bids to make it back to back successes over fences. He was an emphatic winner on his first run for the yard this year, winning over fences for the first time. He takes on stiffer opposition today, dropping back two furlongs in trip. He handles these tight turning tracks in the past and should have a big chance. Jordan Gainford is in the saddle.

STUZZIKINI is our final runner of the day in the last race. A small field, he only has 3 other rivals to deal with. Yet to win over fences, he has gone close a couple of times in the past and has plenty of experience to bring to the table. He has blinkers fitted for the first time over fences today and hopefully they will help bring out some improvement in him. Danny Gilligan is on board.

On the flat in Bellewstown we have just the one runner, PERFECT CURVES, in Division 2 of the BoyleSports Supporting Irish Racing Handicap. She was 2nd over course and distance earlier in the year but that was on good ground. She warrants respect and has the benefit of Keithen Kennedy onboard claiming a valuable 7lb.
