Roscommon and Down Royal

We had a pretty good end to the Listowel Festival and we start the week in Roscommon and have one in Down Royal.

FIRST ASCENT and BOLTLANDER are both having their runs for us in this maiden hurdle for 4yo. First Ascent has had a few runs on the flat and looks like he wants a trip. Hopefully he can find his feet with Jack Kennedy and go well. Boltlander is a complete newcomer to the track and pedigree suggests he can find his home in the 2 mile division. He gets in as third reserve and has Jordan Gainford in the saddle.

Our next runners are in the mares maiden where we have WOODLAND ADVENTURE and CLARNAGH MAID. Woodland Adventure has had a productive summer in bumpers, winning three on the bounce. She leaves the ground for the first time today but has schooled plenty at home, Jack Kennedy rides. Clarnagh Maid looks to be improving for each run so far and can hopefully maintain that upward trajectory with Jordan booked to ride.

THEMANINTHEBOOTS returns to action in the handicap hurdle over 3 miles. He will appreciate the step up in trip as he has placed over this distance before and will have Sam Ewing in the saddle.

In the feature race of the day we have KING OF KINGSFIELD in the Grade 3 chase. He was won both his chase starts to date and this is the next step forward in his season with Jack Kennedy booked to ride.

Finally in Roscommon we have SEA ASTER in the mares handicap chase. Back against her own sex here we hope this consistent mare can bounce back to form with Jack Kennedy booked to ride.

Over in Down Royal we have STAR REIGN in the 2yo nursery. This is her first time in a nursery where she goes off a very low weight. Chris Hayes has been booked to ride as his experience may pay dividends in a race like this. Fingers crossed they can go well.
