PUNCHESTOWN

It is the first day of the season finale!

WINE AN DINE is a recent addition to the yard and was bought for this race in mind, the Kildare Hunt Club chase ladies cup. This is run over the banks and this horse comes having schooled over them plenty. Rob James has been booked to ride and we claim 7lbs here.

BESTALINE goes in the Full Circle series final. She has a nice weight here and can hopefully sneak a place as this has been the target for a while. Danny Gilligan has been booked to ride and claims 5lbs.

For the first of the Grade 1 races we have FIREFOX and KING OF KINGSFIELD. Firefox improved the last day in Aintree and closed the gap to the two who beat him in Cheltenham. It is a quick turn around but he is an improving sort and Jack has chosen him to ride. King of Kingsfield hated the conditions in Cheltenham and with fresh rain he might not be too suited here either, Jordan Gainford has been booked to ride.

We send a lot forward to the Killashee Hotel handicap hurdle where we have PARTY CENTRL, CALL ME LYREEN, GLAN, ROYAL EAGLE, SAMUI and SET POINT. Party Central has been waiting for the ground to improve and it looks like that has finally happened. She is a smart filly with a lot of pace and Danny Gilligan has been booked to ride. Call Me Lyreen improved the last day and is partnered by the ever improving Carl Millar claiming 7. Glan is another who is very ground dependent and could get a run here and will be ridden by Mark Walsh. Royal Eagle might be a bit out of her depth here and will have Jordan in the saddle. Samui ran very well the last day in Fairyhouse and will be partnered by Sam Ewing here. Finally Set Point returns from a break for this. He was an improver last season and gets a real handy weight with Jack Kennedy booked to ride.

For the Goffs Defender Bumper we have just the one SERMANDZARAK who was a winner the last day due to the first past the post being disqualified. He has valuable experience and Harry Swan has been booked to ride and claims 5lbs.

For the next Grade 1 we have ASH TREE MEADOW and FIL DOR. Ash Tree Meadow needed the run the last day and has been freshened up since so should be on point here. Fil Dor is ever consistent and is the pick of Jack Kennedy.

In the final Grade 1 of the afternoon, we have AMERICAN MIKE, SALVADOR ZIGGY and THREE CARD BRAG. American Mike wasn’t the smoothest of jumpers the last day but Jack sticks with him here. Salvador Ziggy needs to bounce back but will prefer the ground here with Jordan Gainford in the saddle. Three Card Brag has first time cheekpieces and will be ridden by Sam Ewing.

Wrapping up the day we have LITTLE TRILBY and SPINOLA BAY in the bumper. Spinola Bay works well at home but didn’t land a blow the last day and goes in the second cap here with Harry Swan booked to ride. Little Trilby has plenty of pace in his pedigree and can hopefully go well here with Josh claiming 7lbs.
