We are in Punchestown and across the water in Perth today.
SO DES FLOS is now a non runner today.
We saddle two in the mares maiden hurdle. FILLUSIN is having her first run back this season. Placed in 4 maiden hurdles last season, she has plenty of experience under her belt and should show a good account of herself. MILESFROMTHEHONK makes her racecourse debut and will come on plenty for the experience. Kevin Sexton rides.
In the 2m7f maiden hurdle we run JAZZ DE COTTE and WILLIAM BUTLER. Jazz De Cotte steps up in trip for the first time after finishing runner up on his two previous runs over hurdles. He is also fitted with first time cheekpieces to sharpen him up and hopefully he’ll finish in the mix here today. Kevin Sexton rides. William Butler has already proven himself over further distances including when he was third last time out over 3m1f and is another for the shortlist.
In the 2m7f handicap hurdle we send out HOWDOYALIKEHERHOME and RINGDUFFERIN. Howdoyalikeherhome has been running consistently for connections and should be capable of running another big race here. Ringdufferin switches back to hurdles for the first time since 2023 and should hopefully show a better account of himself than what his chase form has shown recently. Finn Brickley rides.
Our final runners in Punchestown are BOSTON QUEEN and GERRYS WISH in the 4yo maiden hurdle. Gerrys Wish was 8th on her hurdling debut at Killarney and will have earnt plenty from that run. Hopefully she can take a step forward and finish closer under Paddy Cleary. Boston Queen makes her racecourse debut under Finn Brickley and we will learn plenty about her today.
Over in Perth our first runner is EMILY LOVE in the novice hurdle. A winner last time out, she has been placed on her other two starts over hurdles and seems to be improving with each run. She should be capable of getting on the scoreboard again today and Sean Bowen will be in the saddle.
We saddle two runners in the Perth Gold Cup Chase. RIAAN rand a brilliant race to finish 6th in the Plate Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival before finishing runner up in the Grade 3 handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival. He’s a major player under James Bowen. TULYYBEG is a horse who relishes better ground is a previous Mayo National winner. He can’t be discounted and Carl Millar rides claiming 5lb.
Our final runner is HARDY DIAMOND in the handicap chase. She makes her debut in handicap company over fences after finishing second on debut in Kilbeggan last time out. She took to her fences well and has a strong chance of going one better here under Sean Bowen.
