Punchestown Day 4

We were unlucky not to get up in the opener yesterday after a superb run by horse and jockey. Today we have HAPPY VICTORY in the Farmers race. This horse won two on the bounce a while back and looked to regain some form last time out when 4th. He goes well around here and Harry Swan has been booked to ride claiming 5lbs.

TULLYBEG returns from a break for the EMS Copiers novice chase. It’ll be a big ask after a break but we have booked Danny Gilligan who is in flying form at the moment and his claim will be very useful here.

The mares chase looks like a very competitive renewal where we have RIVIERE D’ETEL. She was unlucky in Cheltenham and she should be in excellent for here and we have Keith booked to ride as Jordan was stood down.

For the Champion hurdle we have a hardy pair in the shape of PIED PIPER and ZANAHIYR. Mark Walsh has been booked to ride Pied Piper who was so close in Cheltenham when shouldering top weight. He shouldn’t be too far away here. Zanahiyr has found his groove this season having placed twice in two great Champion hurdles. Hopefully he goes well again here.

AMIR KABIR goes forward in Grade 1 company having run really well in Grade 2 company last time out. This festival has already proven it beneficial to run your horses as you never know what might happen. Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.

For the Novice hurdle we have FIRM FOOTINGS. This is another horse who has had a great season and looks to finish in style here. Again this is another ride for Danny Gilligan who claims 7lbs in what looks a very open race.

Finally in the bumper we have a lovely horse in the shape of QUANTUM STORM. He was second behind the impressive Ballyburn who won yesterday and that form has worked out very nicely. Harry Swan has been booked to ride and his 5lb claim will be very helpful here.
