We’re back to Punchestown today with 7 runners and across the water in Perth with 4 runner.
Starting off on home turf, MA JACKS HILL is our first runner of the day in the novice chase. Third on his chasing debut in Limerick, he should certainly progress from that run and holds a strong chance under Kevin Sexton.
EMILY LOVE bids to make it back to back wins as she takes on a small field in the 3mile novice chase. She broke her duck over fences on the second time of asking at Tramore last Saturday and steps up in trip to 3 miles for the first time today. Kevin Sexton rides.
We saddle two runners in the mares maiden hurdle. CROSSBAR GETAWAY put in a fine effort to finish second on her seasonal reappearance in Clonmel on the 14th May and should relish the step up in trip here. Paddy Cleary has been booked to ride claiming a useful 7lb. WORKING AWAY showed improvement on her last run where she had the benefit of a first time tongue tie. She keeps that on today and will hopefully take another step forward from what she has shown so far. Kevin Sexton rides.
LE QUESTIONNAIRE has been knocking on the door in maiden company and deserves to get his head in front. He stayed on well at Downpatrick last time out so should come into his own as he steps up in trip in this 3 mile maiden hurdle. Kevin Sexton rides.
Our final two runners in Punchestown are in the 3mile handicap hurdle. MAVERICK MACK didn’t make it very far when he was brought down at the second flight in Ballinrobe last time out. He contests the longer trip for the first time today but it might be a tough ask of him as he sits at the top of the weights. JUKE HILL has been well held on his last three starts and will need to progress to feature here. Calum Hogan is booked to ride and claims 5lb off his back.
Over in Perth FLYING ACE is our first runner of the afternoon. Fresh from a win in Cartmel just under 2 weeks ago, he looked as though he would relish stepping up in trip and should be one of the leading market contenders under Sean Bowen.
DUFFLE COAT is our sole representative in the Perth Gold Cup. His form has tapered off the last two seasons but we have the first time tongue tie on today and he has proven to be much more effective on the better ground conditions. James Smith is booked to ride.
NEON DIAMOND has her second start in handicap company in the 3mile handicap chase. She is another who prefers the better ground conditions and although she carries top weight here, she can not be ruled out of making an impact under Sean Bowen.
Our final runner is CREADAN GRACE in the 3mile handicap hurdle. A winner at Down Royal under James Smith back in October, the partnership were 4th last time out in Punchestown and are back in tact again today. She holds strong each way claims.
