It will be testing ground in Punchestown today with the last two races of Naas being abandoned yesterday, Kildare will be rather wet this morning.
PAUL COLLINS goes in the opening race a maiden hurdle over 2m.5f. He has started to look a little exposed but has been placed in maiden hurdles. He may find more favor in handicaps in the future and will be ridden today by Sam Ewing.
A new addition to the yard is GREY PHAROH. This horse has had two runs in point to points so far and probably isn’t just getting the 3m in that sphere. The drop down in trip should suit and we have Danny in the saddle.
FAMILIAR DREAMS is next up and she improved her jumping the last day to come home 3rd. Hopefully she’ll like the ground and she will be ridden by Sam Ewing.
In the mares maiden hurdle we have CREADAN GRACE who is a homebred for connections. She will be an exciting runner for them and hopefully she can go well in this with Sam booked to ride.
Heros Rise is now a non-runner.
COFFEYS FORGE has really picked up his form since joining us and can hopefully go well here again under Danny Gilligan.
In the next division of the handicap hurdle we have BUTCHERS BILL who has his first start in a handicap. His pedigree suggests he should improve so hopefully he can gain some confidence here under Sam.
In the 4yo bumper we have 2 exciting horses SANTO SOSPIR and LORD TOBIN. Santo Sospir could mix it between flat and national hunt and has a very nice pedigree and is the pick of Harry Swan. Josh’s claim will be a big help to Lord Tobin who’s French pedigree suggests he will be ready early and can hopefully go well.
Over in Ayr BOWENSONFIRE will try and back up his win the last day with another here. It looks a very open race and he can hopefully go well with Sean Bowen booked to ride.
NATHAN WELLS ran much better the last day to come home 4th and can hopefully improve again here under Sean to pick up a bit more form.
