We’ve had a few days to unwind from a fantastic weekend in Down Royal and Gowran. We start to kick up a few gears again as we head into a busy weekend.
Our first runner of the afternoon in Punchestown is DEPLOYED who is having his second start for us. He ran acordingly on stable debut after a 3 year lay off. That will have brought him on to no end. He might need another run before he is at the top of his game but another good round with Jack Kennedy booked to ride will be what is hoped for.
For the 3yo maiden we have PACINI and TIMELESS PIECE. Pacini is a new comer to the jumping realm. He was a winner on the flat in France and has hopefully adapted well to his new game. Jack Kennedy is booked to ride. Timeless Piece was green on debut but should come forward from her last run. Jordan Gainford is booked to ride.
Next up in the maiden hurdle we have CALDWELL POTTER. This will be his first start of the season and it will be in a big field. This horse should improve for age and has very big boots to fill. Hurdles should help and he is a course and distance winner with Jack Kennedy booked to ride.
For the Auction maiden hurdle we have just the one runner CHARITY BARNUM. This is her first start of the season and the conditions of the race suit well. She is a well bred filly and had every chance when falling in Navan last season. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.
Finally in the handicap hurdle we have the triumphant HUNTING BROOK. This horse ran very well to win at Down Royal last weekend. We think there may be further improvement in him. We have countered for the penalty with Danny Gilligan booked to ride taking of 5lbs.
