Punchestown

We head back to Punchestown after a successful day yesterday where we start the day off with CALICO in the maiden hurdle over two miles. She has plenty of experience and has managed to pick up a bit of blacktype along the way. She gets a fillies allowance and is battle hardened and will have Sam Ewing in the saddle.

BALLINLOUGH GALE gets his stable debut here coming from Patrick Martin’s. It would be great if we could get a bit of improvement out of him for the John Thomas McNamara QR handicap hurdle. The young John Gleeson takes the ride but won’t be able to use his claim here.

Gaye Winnie is a non runner in the next.

Skipping past a race, our next runner is A FORTUNE OUT WEST in the maiden hurdle over an extended three miles. He was an impressive point to point winner but hasn’t been able to translate that to the track. Jordan Gainford takes the ride and hopefully he can get a good tune out of him.

For the 80-102 handicap hurdle we have WALKING THE WALK who has been in stellar form this season and probably deserves to have a few more 1’s beside his name. That being said he maintains a nice mark here which could prove vital with Jordan Gainford in the saddle.

Finally we are double handed in the mares bumper with VISIBLE ATTRACTION and WHY DELILAH. Josh Williamson had a great first ride on the track over Christmas where he looked very stylish and did the best out of our runners in the bumper that day. He is jocked up on Visible Attraction who has first time cheekpieces and should benefit from Josh’s 7lb claim. Jamie Codd rides the debutant WHY DELILAH who has a beautiful German pedigree and is a half sister to Landofhopeandglory and hopefully she can go well for connections.
