Killarney Day 2

With two non runners today, we head down to Killarney with 6 runners.

In the opener, the mares maiden hurdle, we run GETAWAYS CHARM. She steps up in trip to 2m6f for the first time and holds strong each way claims. Jordan Gainford rides.

HARPERS FRONTIER makes his racecourse debut in the maiden hurdle. He is a half brother to a hurdle winner and should learn plenty from today’s outing. Sam Ewing rides.

We are represented by two in the novice hurdle. ARCH EMPIRE is none the worse after his fall at Fairyhouse last time out. He was running well that day and provided that hasn’t knocked his confidence then he should run another big race here today under Danny Gilligan. ST CUTHBERTS CAVE got off the mark over hurdles on his 10th attempt last time out and has the most experience in the field. Josh Halford’s 7lb claim is also of huge benefit to his chances.

HOWDOYALIKEHERHOME takes his chances in the Killarney Oaks Hotel handicap hurdle. He went up 4lb for his win last time out and whilst he steps up in class here today he still holds a strong chance of getting back on the scoreboard. Danny Gilligan rides.

In the Grade 3 BoyleSports An Riocht Chase we just run last years winner ASH TREE MEADOW. A dual Grade 2 winner, although he sits at the top of the weights here today he does have good form on the better ground surface and should run well under Danny Gilligan. AMERICAN MIKE is a non runner.

HOLOWW GAMES is a non runner in the hunters chase.
