We head down to Killarney today for Day 1 of their 3 day meeting.

In the opener, the 4yo maiden hurdle, we run WOODVIEW LAD and GERRYS WISH. Woodview Lad was third on his racecourse debut last time out and will have come on plenty for the experience. He hold strong each way claims with Sam Ewing in the saddle. GERRY’S WISH makes her racecourse debut and benefits from a fillies allowance. She’ll learn plenty today and should show a good account of herself. Danny Gilligan rides.

In the mares listed hurdle we send out ROYAL EAGLE. She makes her seasonal reappearance and comes into the race in great form. She’s previously been placed in listed hurdles and isn’t without a chance today under Sam Ewing. Speculatrix is a non runner.

PIED PIPER scored on his chasing debut last time out and heads the market in this small field novice chase. He will have learnt plenty from the last day and is once again partnered by Danny Gilligan.

In the mares beginners chase we run MEDIA NARANJA. Placed in a 2m3f contest at Kilbeggan last time out she should hopefully take a step forward over 2m4f here today. Sam Ewing rides.

In the Killarney National Handicap Chase we send out LIGHTKEEPER. A winner two runs ago over 2m3f, he tries his hand at 3m2f for the first time today. Hopefully he will stay the trip and put in a good run for connections. Jordan Gainford rides.

Our final runner of the day is POWER OF WORDS. He switches to a bumper having had one run to date over hurdles where he finished 4th. He’ll have come on plenty for the run and has a good each way chance today under Josh Williamson.
