It wasn’t to be at Kilbeggan yesterday as we hit the crossbar a few times. Today we return with 6 runners for another evening of racing.
Starting off the day is STUZZIKINI in the maiden hurdle over 2m. The ground was just too poor for him the last day in Down Royal and he has excuses for being pulled up. The drying ground on offer here should benefit him and this looks a very open contest. It would be great to see this horse get in front for connections and Danny Gilligan has been booked to ride.
FRUIT BLOSSOM goes forward in the mares handicap hurdle over 2m3f. This mare ran very well the last day to post a career best and should be knocking on the door for her day in the spotlight soon. She goes well in these sorts of races and we have Danny Gilligan booked to ride and he claims 7lbs.
Another maiden hurdle follows over 2m3f where we have the very useful ZAIDI who ran very well on his hurdle debut to fill the second spot. Michael O’Sullivan has been booked to ride again and his claim has started to diminish as he now claims 3lbs.
For the mares beginners chase we have HAPPY D’EX who was a nice 2nd on debut over fences the last day. She is a point to point winner and looks made for chasing. Things seem to look in her favour and she has Michael O’Sullivan booked to ride and claim 3lbs.
A small break before ARCTIC AMBITION returns to action in the handicap chase. An excellent servant in handicaps, this horse has had a brief freshener and this looks an open contest on ground he should like with Danny Gilligan in the saddle claiming 7lbs.
Lastly we have BODHISATTVA who has his first venture over fences here but comes with plenty of racing experience. The ground might be slightly on the fast side for him but hopefully he can have a bright future over these bigger obstacles with Jody McGarvey booked to ride
