Our first race of the afternoon is over in Goodwood where we have MORDOR in the Coral Goodwood Handicap over 2m4f. There was torrential rain which has left the track more like a national hunt track. Mordor should like the conditions and will have Jamie Spencer in the saddle.

Over in Ireland we have three runners in the Guinness Beginners Chase with Hero’s Rise being a non-runner. BEAUFORT SCALE has had one start so far this season so will be the better for it, that experience over fences should bode well for him with Sam Ewing booked to ride. MINELLA SIXO will be having his first start of the season and his first start over fences. He has won a point to point and will be ridden by Kevin Sexton. Finally WHATS UP DARLING goes again over fences where he has plenty of experience, Jack Kennedy will ride.

For the Galway Blazers we have five runners. MARS HARPER usually goes well at this meeting and is the pick of Jack Kennedy. THE GOFFER has good form and we claim off him with Josh Williamson. RIAAN hasn’t quite lived up to his mark this season and will be ridden by Danny Gilligan. LIGHTKEEPER has won around here in the past and will be partnered by Jordan Gainford who is having a good week. HARSH can be a bit hit and miss but he will be partnered by Josh Halford who will take off 7lbs.

A non-runner the other day MISS GITANA will line up again here. She looks to be improving on the flat so hopefully she can go well here under Keithen Kennedy who claims 5lbs.
