We start the week off with day one of a two day meeting in Downpatrick. TWO BECOME ONE is our first runner in the mares maiden hurdle. There seem to be a number of exposed types in this and could be a very good chance for us to get on the board. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

The next race is a colt and gelding maiden hurdle where we have POWER OF WORDS. This horse has a first time hood on and he went close the last day and will go over a shorter trip. He has plenty of experience and gets weight for age which can hopefully give Jack Kennedy a big advantage.

It is a very small field for the Tony Oakes MBE maiden hurdle over 2m6f where we have 2 runners. JAZZ DE COTTE was disappointing the last day so we can put a line through that run. Jack Kennedy can hopefully get him rolling and go well. Harpers Frontier will be taking advantage of the small field and can hopefully go well with Danny Gilligan in the sadle.

LAKOTA BLUE has improved since switching to fences and hopefully his first attempt in handicap company can be a good one. The conditions of the race seem favourable and Jack Kennedy will take the ride.

Next up is the beginners chase where we are double handed again in the shape of BUTCHERS BILL and GINA MOON. This looks a weak contest and we hope we can get some placings. It will be Butchers Bill’s first outing over fences and based on his pedigree he should be more successful in this sphere with Jack Kennedy booked to ride. Gina Moon has one run under her belt around this track over fences and can hopefully build on that with Danny Gilligan in the saddle.

Rounding off today’s team is THEHAIRYFELLA in the handicap chase. He has good form and deserves to go well here with Jack Kennedy in the saddle.
