How much will it cost?
We have priced the syndicate at about €12.50 per week, with monthly payments of €54. However, if you want to pay in one go you can avail of the discounted rate of €600 for a full years membership.
What horses will be in the club?
We aim to have between 2 and 4 horses in the club at all times, however this may vary due to availability. The horses are not owned by the club and are on a lease basis. We hope to start off the club with 2 nice prospects, FILLUSIN and RHYTHM OF LIFE with more to follow (15/04/2025)
What benefits are there?
You’ll be involved in a number of racehorses with leading trainer Gordon Elliott. You will get weekly updates on these horses and we will host quarterly yard visits where you can see all the stable stars along with parading of your syndicate horses. We also hope to have an annual social day at the races where we hope to have a box and tickets for all members that can attend.
How many shares can I buy?
There will be 150 units in the club. You are entitled to buy more than one share but that does no entitle you to decision making rights in the horses. However, you will be entitled to more tickets to the races.
What happens with prize money?
100% of all prize money won by the clubs horses in training during a period of membership will be distributed as follows:
- Prize money will be distributed once a year per unit, in the May following a full National Hunt season.
- The sum allocated to the unit holder will be the net total paid to the club by Horse Racing Ireland minus race-day expenses related to entry/supplementary fees, trainer/jockey fees and groom expenses
- There can never be any guarantee of any future level of prize money given to vagaries of horse racing.
Do I get to go racing?
We would like to see as many owners coming racing as possible. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow members of the racing club and see your horses perform at the racecourse. We will try our best to get everyone tickets to the races but there will be occasions where we are limited by the racecourses.
Is there any extra costs such as vet bills, farrier, entry fees etc?
Any extra costs will be paid for through any prize money won by the horses, you will not have to pay any more than your membership fee.
What happens if the horse can’t race again?
The club will source horses for the club to run under their name. The horses are not owned by the club and are on a lease basis so the horses wont necessarily be the same horses from the start.
How will I know what my horse is doing?
There will be weekly video/photo updates of you horses sent into a group for all club members to see along with race plans, entries and declarations. We will have quarterly yard visits where your horses will be paraded.
Do we own the horses?
The horses are not owned by the club, They are part of the club on a lease basis only.
How many horses are in the club?
A starting point of 2 horses, with the outlook to increase up to 4.
How long do I have to sign up for?
A minimum of 1 year and then the memebership can be renewed. There are options to pay monthly or annually with your membership lasting a year.
Is it possible for someone in the UK to have shares?
Yes, please note that all payments will be collected in euros.
When does The Club launch?
We hope to have The Club up and running by the 1st of May 2025.
