Cork and Carlisle

After two successful days in Down Royal we head to Cork with 6 runners, including one in the feature race, the Cork Grand National, and across the water to Carlisle.

We kick off the day in Cork with two runners in Division 1 of the maiden hurdle. BOLTLANDER took a keen hold the last day and struggled to finish out his race over 2m4f. He drops back in trip today and had the benefit of a hood to help settle him. Jordan Gainford rides. MASTER HAKU makes his racecourse debut. He’s been schooling well at home and we’ll learn plenty about him today. Jack Kennedy rides.

FAMILY GETAWAY also makes her racecourse debut in division 2 of the maiden hurdle. She’s another who we will learn plenty about after her run but she has been doing everything well at home to date. Jack Kennedy rides.

In the mares maiden hurdle we run WORKING AWAY. She has a point to point win under her belt but hasn’t been seen since. She’s a lovely mare who will come on plenty for the run and Jack Kennedy takes the ride.

CARDCOUNTER makes his seasonal reappearance in the listed novice hurdle. A dual winner last season over flights, this looks a good starting point for this seasons campaign and he will be the mount of Jack Kennedy.

Our final runner of the day is FORTUNEDEFORTUNATA in the Cork Grand National. A winner of a grand national trial in Punchestown back in February and 5th in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter last season, he has proven that he excels in these longer distance races and has a good chance of finishing in the frame under Jack Kennedy.

Over in Carlisle, SPECULATRIX bids to make it back to back wins over fences. She scored in a listed contest at Chepstow last time out and hopefully she can pick up more black type here today. Sean Bowen takes the ride.
