We are racing in Clonmel today where we send out 6 runners.
Our first runner of the day is POWER OF WORDS in the Bulmers Light Maiden Hurdle. Fourth over hurdles on his racecourse debut at Fairyhouse back in April, he switched to a bumper last time out. He will have come on plenty for his racecourse experience and should show a good account of himself back over flights today. Jake Coen is in the saddle claiming a valuable 3lb.
We saddle two runners in the Bulmers Original Hurdle. JIGORO reverts back to hurdles after finishing runner up in a beginners chase at Limerick last month. Prior to that he was 2nd in a valuable 2 mile hurdle at Cork and this looks a good opportunity to try and get back on the scoreboard today. James Smith will partner him and takes 5lb off his back. THE FRIDAY MAN made his seasonal reappearance at the Punchestown Festival. He was well held that day but will have come on for the run and has some strong previous form over hurdles so can not be discounted. Paddy Cleary takes the ride claiming 7lbs.
FILS D’OUDAIRIES takes his chances in the Bulmers Original Handicap Hurdle. Second last time out in a 2m2f contest in Ballinrobe he steps up in trip here today. He is rated much higher than his rivals so does carry top weight but has the benefit of Finn Brickleys 7lb claim.
GRIMAUD makes a quick reappearance as he completes a 4 runner field in the Botanica International Rated Novice Hurdle. Fourth in a much more competitive race last week, he has shown a good account of himself in his hurdling campaign and bids to get on the scoreboard again today under Jake Coen.
Our final runner of the day is STEDE BONNET in the Slan Abhaile INH Flat Race. The son of Walk In The Park showed plenty of promise on his racecourse debut when second in a bumper by three parts of a length. He should be able to progress from that run and looks one for the shortlist here today under Harry Swan.
