AINTREE GRAND NATIONAL

The ground is continuously drying out which will go against most of our runners here today but hopefully we can get lucky. TIMY TUESDAY goes in the opening handicap hurdle over and extended 3 miles. He has had some super form lately and skipping Cheltenham benefitted him greatly. Danny Gilligan takes the ride.

In the first Grade 1 of the afternoon we have HONESTY POLICY who takes a big step up in company, this horse has been a great improver lately and can hopefully keep up that momentum and is ridden by Mark Walsh.

We are double fisted in the Liverpool hurdle with TEAHUPOO and THE WALLPARK. Expect to see the wallpark doing his best work close to home as he usually finishes with a flurry. Teahupoo wears his heart on his sleeve and the ground could be his biggest competitor here under Sam Ewing.

For the feature race of the day and perhaps even the calendar we have 5 runners. CONFLATED has been a great servant but hasn’t shown his best this season. He is a very classy horse when all goes right for him but he tends to make mistakes close to home, Jordan Gainford has been booked to ride. FIL DOR has had this in his sights for a while but there is a question over the trip. He is a tough horse who can go well if they go an even pace, Sam Ewing rides. COKO BEACH is an old reliable and will be a great jumper over these having competed in the Velka Pardubice, Jody McGarvey is booked to ride. THREE CARD BRAG goes well in these staying contests and is towards the bottom of the weights with the wonderful Sean Bowen booked to ride. Finally the very last to get in is little DUFFLE COAT. He can be mercurial at times but when he is on a going day he can be very good. Danny Gilligan takes the ride.

TOUCH ME NOT goes in the Grade 1 novices chase. This looks a big task for him and very competitive so hopefully he can run into a place with Sam Ewing booked to ride.

Our final runner of the meeting is KOKTAIL BRUT who ran well in the DRF bumper to come home 4th. This could suit him and he has a bright future going forward. Harry Swan takes the ride.
