We are racing at Sligo and Bellewstown this afternoon.

In Sligo, Miss Fourie is a non runner in the first race on the card so BOWENSONFIRE and MODE AVION are our first runners of the day in the 2m1f beginners chase. Bowensonfire has his third start over the larger obstacles. Second on debut, he was behind Putapoundinthejar when third last time out and bids to reverse that form. Jack Kennedy is booked to ride. Mode Avion makes his chasing debut and will hopefully make full use of his 4yo allowance. Danny Gilligan is booked to ride and we will learn plenty about him today.

DOWN AROUND is another making his chasing debut as he contests the 3m1f beginners chase. Victorious in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Perth last time out under a patient ride from Sean Bowen, he has proven himself over 3m1f when scoring in Ballinrobe 3 starts ago. He looks one for the shortlist with Jack Kennedy booked to ride.

Our last runner in Sligo is CHANCEAWETMORNING in the 2m5f chase. He looked set to win before falling at the final fence on his chasing debut. He’s none the worse after that spill and hopefully he can run up to that level again today. Jack Kennedy rides.

In Bellewstown we just run SNEDDY EDDIE in the Apprentice series final handicap. A three time winner on the flat, he has proven form over a mile and is a hurdle winner over 2m5f so should see out the trip well. Sat at the bottom of the weights and with the benefit of Nina Doherty’s claim, he should run a fine race.
