The jumps season is looming as we have the first jumps meeting back in Navan racecourse today. In the opening maiden hurdle over 1m7f we have PENNY EXPRESS and IVATT. Penny Express has plenty of nice form and goes into this ready for battle. He has a first time tongue tie which may be the key ingredient and Danny Gilligan in the saddle. IVATT has had just the one start over hurdles but it was very promising and he is the pick of Jack Kennedy.

DAIRY FORCE goes in the handicap hurdle and the big galloping track of Navan should suit him and he may sneak in on his mark. It should be competitive but Jack Kennedy is in the saddle.

We’re double handed in the 2m3f maiden hurdle with RETURNING OFFICER and VARGAS. Returning Officer will need to improve to land a blow here but he has only had one start over hurdles so far and Jack Kennedy is booked to ride. Vargas still needs to find his level and may be better suited to handicap company with Sam Ewing booked to ride.

NOBLE ROCCO is in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, it was good to see improvement in her on her last start and this will be her handicap debut where she has a fighting chance off her mark with Sam Ewing in the saddle.

Another horse having her handicap debut is CLANOKRE LASS who has had a busy summer. She hasn’t done a whole pile wrong so far but her mark isn’t the worst so she has a chance with Danny Gilligan in the saddle.

Our penultimate runner of the afternoon will be WHO’S GOING in the maiden hurdle over 2m5f. He posted a marked improvement the last day and could sneak in a podium here under Jack Kennedy

Our final runner of the day is ELLEN IMLACH who is having her first run on the track. She has a lovely pedigree and is a close relation to Ash Tree Meadow. This is a wide open race where it looks a pretty level field and we have Harry Swan in the saddle.
