We have a busy day at Navan with 14 runnners

In the opener, the maiden hurdle, we saddle 6 runners. COYOTE SPIRIT looks to be one of the most experienced in the field. He’s proven that he can handle testing ground conditions and has run well at Navan before. The mount of Jack Kennedy, today looks like a good opportunity for him to break his maiden tag. LOCH CUAN was well held in his bumper at Down Royal over Christmas but should improve from that experience and we’re hoping that he will show a good account of himself on his hurdling debut under Kevin Sexton. RI AN STOIRM makes his racecourse debut. The son of Nirvana Du Berlais has been schooling well at home and will be the mount of Jordan Gainford. WHINNEY HILL pulled up last time out in a 2m1f contest at Down Royal. He sports first time blinkers today which will hopefully bring out plenty of improvement in him and he is the mount of Danny Gilligan. ISITRAININGINPARIS has her second start over hurdles. She was well held on her hurdling debut and has hopefully strengthened up and can take a step forward on what she has shown so far. Josh Williamson rides and claims a useful 5lb. LENKO is another who makes his racecourse debut. Not only does he have a 4yo allowance but he also has the benefit of Carl Millar’s 5lb claim which hopefully he can make good use of.

Fresh from a win in Ayr last week, APPLES JANE makes a quick reappearance in the mares novice hurdle. Out of the useful mare, Apples Jade in whom this race is named after, she won her maiden hurdle in fine style last week and bids to build on that here today. Jack Kennedy rides.

We have 3 representatives in the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle. MAXXUM bids to make it back to back wins in this race. A highly talented horse who has a habit of pulling it out the bag on the big days. He has been well held in both his starts so far this season but you couldn’t rule him out. Jordan Gainford rides. BETTER DAYS AHEAD reverts back to hurdles on what is his seasonal reappearance. He will come on plenty for the run and is the mount of Danny Gilligan. STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT hasn’t finished out of the placings on his 4 starts this season. He will relish the ground conditions and the benefit of a light weight. Jack Kennedy rides.

THEMANINTHEBOOTS runs in the 2m5f handicap hurdle. A previous course winner back in November, he hasn’t quite fired on his two runs since that win but is partnered with James Smith once again who claims a valuable 5lb and can hopefully rekindle that November form.

In the Ten Up Novice Novice Chase we run THE WALLPARK. A proven stayer over hurdles, he should appreciate the step back up in trip and will be the mount of Mark Walsh.

GRINGO D’AUBRELLE is none the worse after his fall in the Amateur National last time out and bids to get back in the placings in the 3m handicap chase. He’s a previous course winner over 3m1f and sports first time cheekpieces here today. Jack Kennedy rides.

Our final runner of the day SOUL ASYLUM is now a non runner.
