We start the day of with a potentially nice horse in the shape of LAZARE DE STAR in the rated novice hurdle. We were surprised by the mark that was given to him which gave us the option of coming here and getting more experience into him. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.
Next up we have HE CAN’T DANCE and HOLLY BROOK. He Can’t Dance has had a few trips to the dancefloor but he hasn’t quite come away with the top prize yet. He has plenty of experience now and will be ridden by Jack. It was good to see Holly Brook make a nice return to racing a little while back after a break and she looks to build on that with Jordan booked to ride.
For the first handicap on the card we have SA FUREUR, SON OF ANARCHY, TIMELESS TREATY and GRIMAUD. We claim of Sa Fureur with Kevin Healy who takes a valuable 7lbs off. It was great to see Son of Anarchy get a well deserved win and he looks to be going in the right direct and Mark Walsh has been booked to ride. Timeless Treaty ran ok the last day and can hopefully improve from there with Jack Kennedy booked to ride. Finally rounding off the team is GRIMAUD. He ran well over Christmas and can hopefully continue to improve with Sam Ewing booked to ride.
Next up is MAGIC BOUM in the handicap hurdle. This filly is going up against the boys here off a workable mark and we claim off her with Paddy Cleary taking away a good 7lbs. It’ll be a sticky enough race where she can hopefully make good use of herself.
The beginners chase looks a really exciting race where we send forward three runners; BALLYBOW, PATTER MERCHANT and WINGMEN. Ballybow will need this as his third run over fence to qualify for a mark and big runner handicaps may be more his kettle of fish down the line. Patter Merchant looks a smart horse and it is a similar case for him however he has a very good mark and can hopefully make it in graded company soon with Danny Gilligan booked to ride. On ratings Wingmen will have a stiff job to reel Slade Steel in but he has been running to good effect in smart company and is the pick of Jack Kennedy.
Our final runner of the day is LOW KICK in the bumper. This handsome son of Montmartre was last seen coming third in a very good bumper in Aintree last season. Although a small field it looks a competitive one and hopefully we can come out on top with Harry Swan in the saddle.
