Gowran Park & The Curragh

It’s another wet and windy day here with Storm Amy in full flow and we head to Gowran PArk and The Curragh.

Our first runners of the day in Gowran Park are COMBS and CUMBERLAND RIVER in the 3yo hurdle. Combs ran a very respectable race on hurdling debut where he was second. He will have come on for that run and warrants respect here today under Jack Kennedy. Cumberland River was well held on his hurdling debut and will need to take a big step forward from that run. Sam Ewing rides.

In the 2m4f maiden hurdle we send out PAS PEUR DE TOI. Previously 3rd in a point to point back in 2023, he made his debut under rules in Navan last time out where he was 7th in a 2m5f contest. He will have come on plenty for that experience and should appreciate the drop back in trip. Jack Kennedy rides.

CHER TARA represents us in Division 1 of the Racing TV handicap hurdle. She switches back to hurdles after pulling up on her chasing debut at Tramore in August. A previous winner over 2m4f, she’s in with a good chance of finishing in the frame under Jack Kennedy.

In division 2 we run LIGHTNING LEGS. This will be her first time in handicap company and although she is yet to get on the scoreboard over hurdles, this looks like a good opportunity for her to be in the money. Jack Kennedy rides.

CINAMMON ROLL runs in the Jack Duggan Memorial Handicap Hurdle. He stepped up to 3 miles on his handicap debut last time out where ran a huge race to finish second under Paddy Cleary and looks capable of making an impact here today under Jack Kennedy.

In the feature race, the PWC Champion Chase, we send out WESTERN FOLD. This years Galway Plate winner has been given time to freshen up ahead of this task and looks a leading player in this 5 runner field. Danny Gilligan keeps the ride.

We have one runner in the William Hill Challenge Series Handicap Chase. BOSTON ROVER has been on an upward trajectory since making the switch to fences. This will be his first time in a handicap chase but is another who looks a major contender here. Jack Kennedy rides.

Our last runner in Gowran Park is BEAUFORT SCALE in the Beginners chase. He took a big step forward on his third run over fences where he was 2nd in a 2m4f contest in Kilbeggan but will need to improve here again. Jack Kennedy rides.

Over in the Curragh our first runner of the day is BOSTON MAX in the EBF (C&G) Maiden. He has been well held on his two starts over 6f so steps up to 7f for the first time today. Leigh Roche will be in the saddle.

THE MEDIATOR was a winner last time out in a QR Handicap in Clonmel on soft ground and seems to have really come into his own in this sphere. A leading market contender, Hannah Smullen takes the ride in this Ladies QR Handicap and claims a valuable 7lb.
