It is the final day of the Punchestown Festival and we managed to grab another win yesterday in the sunshine. We have a bit of a reduced team today with the drying ground so hopefully all goes well.

In the opening cross country race we have CHEMICAL ENERGY and CONFLATED. This is the shorter of the two cross country races so should suit. Conflated has been a brilliant servant and had a go around the Aintree fences but didn’t stay the distance. Hopefully the twists and turns on offer will bring out the best in him with Danny Gilligan in the saddle. Chemical Energy ran a cracker in the Cheltenham equivalent but again didn’t quite stay and will have Sam Ewing in the saddle.

In the handicap chase we have DUFFLE COAT and FORTUNEDEFORTUNATA. This is a bit of a marathon but both are well able to stay. We claim off Duffle Coat with James Smith and Danny will ride Fortunedefortunata.

BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD goes against the girls in the mares champion hurdle. Shes a very tough mare and she had excuses for Cheltenham. She seems to be her best on home soil and will have Sam Ewing in the saddle.

MINELLA CROONER won this race last year and returns again in similar form. Hopefully lightning can strike twice and deliver Sam a victory. Tullybeg will enjoy the ground on offer here but is lacking a run compared to some of these and will have Danny in the saddle.

Our final runner of the day is PANJANDRUM. A very cool character who won his point to point. We will claim off him with Josh Williamson taking away 7lbs. Hopefully it can be a winning end to the festival.
