It is the start of the double meetings and we have our first runner down in Cork in the maiden hurdle over 2m. ETERNAL ECHO and WOODVIEW LAD go to post here. Eternal Echo has shown he has more than a few gears and the logical next step is to try him over hurdles. The distance should be ideal and Danny has been booked to ride. Woodview lad gets the run here and can hopefully go well on debut under Jody McGarvey.
All three go to post in the Bar One Racing Hurdle over 2m; FILS D’OUDAIRIES, JIGORO and KING OF KINGSFIELD. Fils has been mixing it in high company this year and has picked up some good prize money, Kevin Sexton rides. Jigoro will have to step up to this and will be ridden by James Smith who claims 5lbs. Finally King of Kingsfield steps back in field and hopefully out of Brighterdaysahead shadow and will be ridden Danny Gilligan.
THE ENABLER hasn’t been able to back up his Christmas win but goes here with Danny Gilligan in the saddle.
FIL DOR goes in the Grade 3 Michael O’Sullivan chase. He didn’t get home in the Grand National so this reduction in trip will suit. Danny Gilligan has been booked to ride.
Harsh improved the last day and can hopefully improve further no he is over fences. Danny Gilligan has been booked to ride.
Finally in the bumper we have Finn Brickley claiming off LACADUV. He wears a first time tongue tie on debut and can hopefully goes well on debut.
Over in Fairyhouse RAINBOW TRAIL is now a non-runner.
For the feature race of the day we have DOWN MEMORY LANE and FIREFOX. Firefox has been disappointing so will have to set up but he has good course form which will be in his favour, Sam rides. Down Memory Lane comes here fresh and the form of that last run has worked out well and will be ridden by Mark Walsh.
LIGHTKEEPER is now a non-runner.
EMILY LOVE makes her first start over hurdles here which is hopefully her game. She has good form, been schooling well and is race fit with Sam Ewing. SON OF ANARCHY is a really good looking type who has plenty of experience which he can hopefully put to good use under Mark Walsh
SWING DAVIS comes here off the back of a win in Navan, steps into Grade 1 company for the first time and she’s up against some tough opposite and can hopefully show a good account of herself. Sam Ewing is onboard.
LORD TOBIN makes his second career start, he’ll take a step forward from his run in Punchestown. Josh Halford takes a valuable 7lbs off his back.
