First we head to Wexford where Innellan Shore is now a nonrunner. Our first runner is now JACK DU LARGE in the Maiden hurdle over 2m4f. Jack is having his first start here and comes up against some more experienced runners. He is a beautifully bred horse but lacks experience. Jack Kennedy is booked to ride and hopefully he can finish in the frame.
For the mares hurdle we have MOLLYS MANGO who scored on her return to the track. She is in good form and this small field should suit her. Hopefully things can go her way and Jack Kennedy is booked to ride.
MINELLA CROONER returns to action in Listed Chase over 2m7f. There are two nonrunners in this now and we will be hoping for a clean round of jumping to start him off this season. Jack Kennedy rides.
Another returning from a break is MALTON GROOVE in the beginners chase. This is a big field with some exciting runners. This horse looks like a staying chaser in the making and this will be a stepping stone to the future with Jack Kennedy booked to ride.
Our feature runners of the day come in the Glenfarclas Cross Country chase in Cheltenham where we have GALVIN and DELTA WORK. This is Galvin’s first run since unseating in the Grand National. He is in super form at home and took very well to this sport in Cheltenham in March. He will be ridden by Rob James who has a 7lbs claim. Delta Work has the job of carrying top weight with Galvin’s claim. Delta Work is electric around Cheltenham and Keith Donoughue knows the track inside-out. This will be a big trial for March but it’s exciting to see these two horses back on the track.
Our final runner of the afternoon is NEW YEAR HONOURS in Dundalk over 1m2.5f. This filly won her last start on the flat before joining us and the ground just hasn’t gone her way lately for hurdles. She’s a smart filly on the level and Declan McDonogh has been booked to ride.
