Today we are split across tow meetings ahead of a very busy weekend with our annual open morning. All are welcome as Racing is open to everyone and we have room for everyone!
Our first runner of the afternoon comes in Wexford with YEATS STAR in the Opportunity maiden hurdle over 2m. This horse has had two good runs so far in his career and isn’t a complete newbie to hurdling having come 4th on his first start. Carl Millar is in the saddle and claims 4lbs.
Next in Wexford is LUCKY STORM who showed great improvement to come hope 2nd last time out. She will have another strong rider today in the shape Jordan Gainford and hopefully they can go well in this mares maiden hurdle.
Our last runner in Wexford is I A CONNECT in the Slaney River Rated Novice Chase. He was a winner last time out of a beginners chase and this is a step up in class against more experienced rivals with Jordan Gainford in the saddle.
Over in Down Royal we have DOCTOR NIGHTINGALE and MILLENIUM ROSE. Doctor Nightingale has good experience in this sphere now having been placed on all her starts. Gavin Brouder rides and claims 5lbs. Millenium Rose is an interesting newcomer, she is unraced and a half sister to the Group 3 winner Dubday and could have a bit of class about her, Jake Coen takes the ride and claims 5lbs.
For the mares maiden hurdle we have AIR DROP. This mare has pulled together a string of very good results and a win is surely just around the corner. Jack Kennedy takes the ride.
PINYON JAY showed a big improvement the last day and could be well suited by the addition of hurdles and a step up in trip. There are some nice horses in this and we have Jack Kennedy booked to ride.
TULLYBEG was a nonrunner the last day as the ground changed drastically. This looks like a hot race but the ground looks more in his favour and Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.
In the 80-102 handicap hurdle we have WALKING THE WALK who is having his last run before heading to the sale at Doncaster next week. This horse has barely been out of the placing and could well run another great race here with Jack Kennedy boked to ride.
Finally we have TOMAVIAN in the bumper. This is a gorgeous looking filly from the family of Won in the Dark by Kingston Hill who could be very well bought if she does the business today. She will improve from today and will probably be better over hurdles. Harry Swan has been booked to ride and claims 5lbs.
