Today we have 5 runners in Sligo and one in the very glamourous York.
Our first runner of the day is in fact TRONADOR over in York for the Ebor festival. This horse ran a stormer in Glorious Goodwood so takes his chance in the stayers race here at York. Stamina is no problem as he is a Graded hurdle winner and last times race was over 2m4f. Joe Fanning is back in the saddle again and he should like the ground conditions. This is a great pot and hopefully things can go his way.
Away from the glitz and glamour we have THE GREY DOVE in the mares maiden hurdle over 2m1.5f. She has been a bit hit and miss but shouldn’t be too far away now and Jack Kennedy takes the ride.
UP AND OUT has a good each way chance in the 80-102 handicap hurdle. She hasn’t done much wrong this season and should be getting to a good mark now. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.
Heading proceedings for the Hankook Pearse Rd Tyres maiden hurdle is ARABIAN DIAMOND. This horse was a very impressive winner of his bumper and wasn’t disgraced in a maiden hurdle at the Galway festival when 4th. Jack Kennedy takes the ride.
ARCTIC AMBITION has been a brilliant horse in this sphere this seasonand he goes again in this handicap hurdle. This is a career high mark of 105 over hurdles and he might be reaching the peak of his powers in this company. Hopefully he can go well and Jack Kennedy takes the ride.
Finally in the Adare Manor opportunity handicap hurdle we have APPIAN WAY. This horse ran a cracker the other day in Roscommon when finishing like a train well off the pace. This is a step up in trip from then and might prove the ticket. Carl Millar rides and claims 4lbs.
