Punchestown Saturday

We send 12 horses for the first day of the two day November meeting at Punchestown.
We kick off the day with two lining up in the 3 year old hurdle. LAKOTA BLUE makes his second start over hurdles, he jumped brilliantly at Down Royal 3 weeks ago and has taken a step forward from that run. Jack Kennedy takes over the reins. MISS GITANA also makes her second start over hurdles, she ran with plenty of credit 6 days ago at Navan and makes a quick reappearance, she will have learned plenty for that experience. Jake Coen takes a valuable 3lbs off her back.
SERMANDZARAK is our sole representative in the extended 2 mile 3 furlongs maiden hurdle. A fantastic winner of the Goffs Defender Bumper at the Punchestown festival, he makes his debut over hurdles. Returning from a break and making his first start over hurdles, he is two from two at this track and hopefully he can make it three from three. Jack Kennedy rides.
In the third race of the day, the beginners chase, we have DEE CAPO taking his chance. Progressive through the early part of last season, he makes his first start over fences, he has been schooling very well at home and hopefully he can make a good account of himself. He will appreciate any rain that falls. Jack Kennedy rides.
In the “Boodles Florida Pearl Novice Chase” over the 3 mile trip, we field all 3 of the runners for this race in the colours of owners Gigginstown House Stud. STELLAR STORY was triumphant in the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last year and he makes his debut over fences, he is in great form at home, returning from a break and is the mount of Jack Kennedy. SEARCH FOR GLORY comes here off the back of a win on his chasing debut at Galway in October. He has the benefit of race fitness on his side is the mount of Sam Ewing, and has his usual cheekpieces and tongue strap applied. RAINBOW TRAIL was a good winner in Gowran Park on his chasing debut. A faller at Punchestown last time out, he has a bit to find on hurdle ratings with his two rivals, but comes here in great form. Jody McGarvey takes over the reins.
In race 5 the “Ryans Cleaning Handicap Chase”, MAGIC TRICKS takes on 10 other rivals. He steps up to this trip for the first time and has blinkers retained. Mark Walsh is in the saddle, and he carries the white cap in the green and gold of JP McManus’s colours, fingers crossed, he can put in a bold show.
In the main feature of the day the “Unibet Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1)”, we have BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD taking her chance. She makes her second start of the season and comes here off the back of win at Down Royal. She makes her first start at grade 1 senior level and has a 7lb mares allowance. She has the benefit of race fitness on her side which will hopefully play to her advantage. Jack Kennedy rides.
In the penultimate race of the day, BINGE WORTHY makes his seasonal return to action and his first start in handicap company. Trip and ground should be to his liking for his first start of the season. He has an unexposed profile in handicap company and has done very well for the break. He has the benefit of Jack Kennedy in the saddle.
In the final race of the day, we have JACOBS LADDER and MA JACKS HILL. JACOBS LADDER was very impressive winning on his return to action at Down Royal just over 3 weeks ago. He carries a winners penalty, but has Josh Williamson taking a valuable 7lbs off his back. He came out of his race very well and hopefully he can make it back to back wins. MA JACK HILL makes his racecourse debut, a previous point-to-point winner, he has been doing everything very easily at home and fingers crossed he can make a good account of himself, Harry Swan rides.
