Punchestown, Lingfield and Haydock Saturday

Today we head across to Kildare for the first day of a two day meeting in Punchestown.

Our first pair of runners come in the Grade 2 Novices Chase where we have GRAND PARADIS and MARS HARPER. Grand Paradis started his season in a hot Novice chase at Cork where the ground was not to his liking. It looks like better ground is on offer here today and Jack Kennedy takes the ride. Mars Harper ran a blinder behind Mighty Potter on chase debut and could be a diamond in the rough in this division, Davy Russell takes the ride.

For the Maiden hurdle over 2m3f we have the Land Rover Bumper winner ABSOLUTE NOTIONS and Ideal De Ciergues is our second reserve. Absolute Notions has a big profile now after that win and takes on a big field. He looks like he should go well and Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

For the Listed Mares hurdle we have QUEENS BROOK. It was great to get a run into her last month and that will have done her fitness the world of good. She is a top class mare and this looks a good competitive race where hopefully her class can shine through. Jack Kennedy takes the ride.

For the 80-109 we have JUNGLE PROSE who is chasing a hattrick of wins having gone up a total of 24lbs since joining us. This will be a big ask for the fast improving mare but she has done very well since joining and hopefully we can eek out a bit more improvement yet. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

For the bumper we have two very nice horses in the shape of CALDWELL POTTER and CARDAMON HILL. Caldwell Potter is a full brother to the very talented Mighty Potter and ran in the Land Rover Bumper. He is the only 4yo in today’s field and will be ridden by Jamie Codd. Cardamon Hill is a new recruit to the yard and has run well in point to points. He looks like a horse who probably needed a bit of time to mature and will be ridden by Harry Swan who claims 7lbs.

We also have a runner over in Haydock as Tronador runs in the very competitive Betfair Stayers handicap hurdle. There is great prize money on offer here and we have booked Brian Hughes to ride.

Finally in Lingfield we have Coachello running in the class 3 conditions stakes over 7f. This will be his first run for us and he holds some very good french form. Jamie Spencer is booked to ride.
