We have runners at home and across the Irish Sea in Sandown where THE GOFFER is our sole representative in Sandown Gold Cup handicap chase. The Goffer came fourth behind none other than Corach Rambler and Fastorslow last time out in Cheltenham. That form has worked out pretty well to say the least. This looks a hot race with Frodon and the Scottish National winner Kitty’s Light making a quick return. Sean Bowen has been booked to ride and hopefully that Cheltenham form continues to blossom.
In Punchestown HARDLINE takes on the banks in the cross country race. He will be one of the fresher runners in this as there are a few repeat appearances from some of the runners throughout the week. Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.
MILAN NATIVE goes forward for the handicap chase over 3m7f. This horse has lost his sparkle a little bit but he has fallen in the weight which will be a huge help and Danny Gilligan claims a further 7lbs.
For the mares Champion hurdle we have QUEENS BROOK is a non runner.
In the Grade B Palmerstown chase we have ESCARIA TEN and BALLYKEEL. Escaria Ten is a non-runner. Ballykeel will be a featherweight here with Corey McGivern claiming a further 7 off an already low 10st.
Our next runners come in the Grade B handicap hurdle with FELIX DESJY and ITSWHATUNITSUS. Felix is a non runner. Itswhatunitesus pulled together a great string of form before failing to fire in a Grade 1. He comes here very fresh and with Danny Gilligan claiming 7.
RAINBOW TRAIL was an expensive point to point purchase. He came 2nd on his point debut and looks a really nice horse for the future. Anything he does here will be a bonus. Harry Swan has been booked to ride.
Rounding up the festival is STUZZIKINI in the Say yes to Organ Donation Charity race. It was great to see this horse win last time out and we won this race last year. Over 230 winners have passed through our hands since then and it would be great to see Paul Bell go well for a great cause.
