Another busy day at the races where new recruit WENDROCK has his first run over hurdles. It is a quick turnaround for this horse as he came from Tatts HIT sale at the end of October but he is a gorgeous horse who can hopefully go well in this sphere with Jack booked to ride. MISS GITANA is another who has come from the HIT sale and she has a similar story, she is a much more compact horse and will be ridden by Sam.
Two exciting mares go in the mares maiden hurdle. QUALIMITA ran well on her only start for us gaining blacktype in the process. She is bigger and better this season and will be ridden by Jack Kennedy. Holly Brook is a non runner
For the handicap hurdle we have WHISPERING HOPES and SOMEONE’S WISH. Both horses have been in great form of late and have good chances in this and hopefully one or both can get into the frame.
In the first Graded race of the day we have PRENDS GARDE A TOI and THE YELLOW CLAY. Prends Garde A Toi has gone well so far this season and should take the step forward well with Danny Gilligan in the saddle. The Yellow Clay was very impressive with his triumph in Down Royal the last day and will be ridden by Jack Kennedy. Patter Merchant is a non runner
For the Tara handicap hurdle we have SA FUREUR and FORTUNEDEFORTUNATA. Hopefully Sa Fureur is a Graded horse in a handicap here as he bears top weight and will have Jack Kennedy in the plates. Fortunedefortunata has a run under his belt this season and could go well here with Sam booked to ride.
We have the majority of the field in the Troytown Handicap Chase. AMERICAN MIKE has been an expensive horse to follow but he is in great form at home and comes here fresh with Jack booked to ride the top weight. CHEMICAL ENERGY will love the ground if it remains dry and will also be towards the top of the weights with first time blinkers and Carl Millar claiming 7lbs. FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU is a non runner. 7lbs. GEVREY is great in these but needs to be back to his best with Ricky doyle booked to ride. THE GOFFER has first time blinkers for this and we hope they can work with Jody in the saddle. FAKIR D’ALENE needs to overcome a big lay off here but goes well fresh and will have Tom Harney and his 7lbs claim in the saddle. RIAAN steps up in company and returns after a break but in good form with Sam booked to ride. MARS HARPER is well accustomed to these sorts of races and will have Alex Harvey in the saddle claiming 5lbs. Another returning from a break is WHERE IT ALL BEGAN is a non runner. STUZZIKINI looks well handicapped for this and he has good form, Danny Gilligan is booked to ride. Finally we have the mare JUMPING JET who has first time cheekpieces and Jake Coen claiming 3lbs.
It’s a small field in the beginners chase where we have BETTER DAYS AHEAD and BIG STAGE. Better days ahead got his festival win last season and moves up to chasing where he could be a very good horse. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride. Big Stage ran very well in Down Royal and don’t be surprised by a big run here with Sam in the saddle.
Our final runner of the weekend is SWING DAVIS in the mares bumper. She is a point to point winner with a beautiful pedigree and hopefully she can go all the way with Harry Swan booked to ride.
