Naas Saturday

Naas kicks off with a small field Juvenile hurdle where we have JAZZY MATTY. The ground got a bit too heavy for him the last day in Fairyhouse but we have had a rather dry forecast recently which may prove to suit him better. Jordan Gainford has been booked to ride.

For the Auction Novice hurdle over 2m3f we have PURSE PRICE. She gets a lovely mares allowance in this and was very close the last day. Ben Harvey has been in great form lately and his 5lbs claim will hopefully prove to be very valuable.

NEIGH BOTHA runs in the maiden hurdle over 2m3f. He has a bit of experience now and we were happy with his run the last day. Hopefully he can get closer now and will have Jordan Gainford in the saddle. Denis O’Regan will be aboard SMOOTH PLAYER. This horse pulled up the last day and was not himself. He has been given time to freshen up and he looks in top form again now.

Another two go forward in the Adare Manor opportunity handicap hurdle. KNOCKNAGAPPAGH always runs a really good race and she can hopefully go well again in this. She will have Kevin Murphy in the saddle who has a 4lbs claim in this. BY YOUR SIDE is our second runner in this race. He put in a great effort the last day to come home third. Carl Millar has been booked to ride and has a 2lbs claim.

We skip the next two races and our final runners of the day come in the Christopher Dunner Memorial bumper where we have SAMUI and SMOKEY PUTNUM. Samui is beautifully bred for the flat but won’t be the first in his family making the change to national hunt rules. This will be his first run and hopefully he has a bit of pace about him and he will be ridden by Jamie Codd. Smokey Putnum was a bit disappointing the first time out and hopefully he has put that run behind him now. Josh is in the saddle again and will claim 7lbs.
