We head back down to Listowel today for Day 2 of their Harvest Festival.
In the opener, the mares maiden hurdle, we run INSTANT TENDANCE. She ran well on her racecourse debut in the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper back in 2022 and is back from a long lay off. She’s been schooling well at home and we’re hopeful she’ll show a good account of herself over hurdles for the first time. Jack Kennedy rides.
SMOKEY PUTNUM makes his hurdling debut in the Connollys Red Mills EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle. He was placed in two of his seven bumpers and should be better suited by going jumping. Jack Kennedy takes the ride.
We send 3 down to post in the Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle. SAMUI has been running really well for connections this summer and should appreciate the better ground. Danny Gilligan rides and claims 5lb. SHAJAK ran a blinder at the Galway Festival to finish 3rd in the flat handicap. He does tend to run in snatches and we’re putting a line through his last run and hoping he can bounce back to form with Jody McGarvey in the saddle. NEW YEAR HONOURS is having her first run in handicap company. She carries a nice low weight of 10st7lb and should run well under Jack Kennedy. WESEEKHERTHERE is currently 2nd reserve so we’re hoping she gets in.
TOMAVIAN is our final runner of the day in the bumper. She ran a brilliant race on debut to finish second by a head. She will have come on plenty for the run and should go close here today under Harry Swan.
