Limerick and Sedgefield

We head back to Limerick today with an army of horses for the Munster national along with two runners in Sedgefield.

BESTALINE returns to the track after a break. She has matured and looks like a nice prospect over hurdles. This looks like an open contest and hopefully she can go well with Jack Kennedy in the saddle.

We double up in the maiden hurdle over 2m. THE BAY HORSE is having his first start for the team and Carl Millar takes the ride and claims 7lbs. WHAT’S UP DARLING looks very exciting as he was a good winner of his bumper. He looks like he should improve with experience and we have Jack Kennedy in the saddle.

For the Munster National we have a full army; COKO BEACH, RUN WILD FRED, FRONTAL ASSAULT, MARS HARPER, DEFI BLEU, GEVREY and CAVALRY MASTER, they face 5 other rivals. Coko Beach has been an old reliable in these sorts of races and he should like the ground. It will be his first start of the season and Danny Gilligan rides and claims 5lbs. Run Wild Fred had a year off and comes here fresh, hopefully he will be full of vigor as Keith Donoghue takes the ride and looks to have an exciting season. THE GOFFER has race fitness on his side and might sneak into the frame here with Donogh Meyler in the saddle. Frontal Assault looks to be the pick of the bunch and again has race fitness on his side, Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride. Mar Harper looks a great selection for eachway backer as he has been in wonderful form this season and has Jordan Gainford booked to ride. Defi Bleu returns from his summer break and should go well fresh here with Gavin Brouder claiming 5lbs. Gevrey was unlucky in the Kerry National and might not enjoy bottomless ground but he has Ricky Doyle in the saddle who is well able in these types of races. Finally rounding off the team is Cavalry Master, who is having his first start for us after a year and a half off the track. This will be a big ask but hopefully he can follow in Beacon Edge’s footsteps and have a winning reappearance. Jody McGarvey has been booked to ride.

It was brilliant to see PATS CHOICE win another good prize last time out. He has a tougher job on his hands here but looks to be in good form and we have top claimer Danny Gilligan in the saddle claiming 5lbs.

Finally for Limerick we have COOL SURVIVOR who ran to his credit over hurdles last season but based off his point to point form he looks better suited to chasing. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

Over in a very wet Sedgefield we have THE ABBEY in the handicap chase over 3m5f. This will be a tough race in the conditions but he looks well handicapped and has Sean Bowen in the saddle.

GORDON’S AURA skipped Chepstow last week but gets his trip away here. This looks an open event where he can hopefully get his head in the frame with Sean Bowen in the saddle.
