Kilbeggan and Killarney runners

We hit the crossbar a couple of times last night but it was good to see the horses running well.

Our first runners in Kilbeggan are in the 2m3f 4yo maiden hurdle. Here we have BALLYQUIN BAY, GOLDEN ARMOUR and Sycamore Grey is second reserve. Ballyquin Bay has plenty of experience now and goes here with Denis O’Regan in the saddle. He is improving with his runs and can hopefully go one better here. Golden Armour is having his first run over hurdles today as he comes from the flat sphere. He is a well bred horse and once held a Derby entry. He has a first time tongue tie and Jack Foley claiming 3lbs. We wait to see about Sycamore Grey.

It’s a short day for our Kilbeggan contingent as our last runners come in the next race, another maiden hurdle over the minimum distance of 1m7f. UP AND OUT ran ver well the last day to come home second and is another that is improving. This will be another ride for Denis O’Regan and we would like to thank the horses connections as they very kindly bought breakfast for the yard this morning. Superlike is first reserve and declared to run. He didn’t get very far the last day where he fell at the first. He has been in the schooling ring plenty since and can hopefully put in a good effort here.

Over in Killarney we send out two runners in the 3yo maiden where we have THE INSIDER and CHARGO. The Insider will be having his first start over hurdles and he should come on plenty for this with Jordan Gainford in the saddle. Chargo ran very well on debut to round off a 1-2-3 for his sire Highland Reel in that event. He has a first time tongue tie and that experience should give him every chance here with Jack Kennedy in the saddle.

Happy D’ex is still awaiting a phone call to see if she gets in as she is first reserve. She has travelled down with the pack just in case as we would love her to run in this mares maiden hurdle.

For the feature race on the card, the Grade B handicap chase we have VADO FORTE. He can be a bit of a rogue character but is hugely talented. He goes off a high weight but will have Corey McGivern in the saddle claiming 7lbs.

Finally we have ASH TREE MEADOW in the Novice chase. This horse has blossomed since turning his hand to chasing and has thrived at his recent Perth appearances. It is a small but tight field where Jack Kennedy is booked to ride.
