Kilbeggan and Cork runners

It’s a very busy day for us as we head for the Midlands National meeting in Kilbeggan and we have runners down in Cork.

Our first runner of the day comes in Kilbeggan where we have two in the opener, the mares maiden hurdle. ELUSIVE SEA and KNOCKNAGAPPAGH. Elusive Sea went very well the last day over in the UK and was just denied first class honours. This looks like it could be a warm enough event but it would be great to see her go well. Knocknagappagh was unfortunate the last day as she picked up a cut in transit to the racecourse so was unable to run. She is 100% now and will have Davy Russell in the saddle.

Calagogo is now a non-runner unfortunately.

For the Midlands National we send out a good team. BATTLEOVERDOYEN did ok on his return after an awful fall and did all that was needed the last day. Hopefully that will have helped him get his confidence back and Corey McGivern rides and takes off 7lbs. HARDLINE gets first time blinkers and can hopefully benefit from a falling handicap mark and Shane Fitzgerald has been booked to ride and takes off 3lbs. THE BIG LENSE won this event last year and is only 3lbs higher than twelve months ago. Luke Dempsey gets the leg up. Finally our last runner in this race is the very tough and genuine HURRICANE GEORGIE. She ran some excellent races against very seasoned chasers and maiden the most of her 4yo allowance last season. A switch to hurdling saw her make use of her low handicap mark there and thus protected her mark over fences. She could be very well handicapped here and Jack Kennedy takes the ride.

Finally in the bumper we have DUNLEER PHOENIX who ran a very good race on debut to finish third. He looks like the type that will improve as he is stepped up in trip. Carl Millar takes the ride and claims 7lbs.

Over in Cork, our first runner is SILVER BREEZE in the maiden hurdle over 2m. She got her win in bumper company and moves up to hurdling. This looks an open race where Jordan Gainford is booked to ride.

Next up is GIFT OF KINGS in the handicap hurdle over 2m. He has had middling form as of late but he should appreciate this sort of ground and Jordan Gainford has been booked to ride.

One of the hottest races of the day comes next in the shape of the 2m4f hurdle race. SOVIET PIMPERNEL takes on some well seasoned rivals and hopefully he can put his best foot forward here with Jordan in the saddle.

Finally in the bumper we have FINNTHEMAGICIAN who was third on debut in Ballinrobe and can hopefully do well again here with Harry Swan in the saddle claiming 7lbs.
