We hope to start the day with two runners at Ascot for Shergar Cup day. SAMUI is currently the reserve in the 2m stayers handicap so he hasn’t been allocated a team or rider yet. Fingers crossed he gets in.
Our second runner is SET POINT in the Challenge Cup over 1m4f. He won the ladies derby at The Curragh and potentially has more to give. He is on team Ireland and GB and will be ridden by Seamie Heffernan.
Over in Kilbeggan we have BOSTON BEACH who is having his first run on the track. He will have plenty of practice at home over hurdles so hopefully he can put it all in to action with Jack Kennedy in the saddle.
OVIDSTOWN HILL and OCEAN BREW go in the maiden hurdle over 2m3f. Ovidstown Hill is having his first start for us and his brother Mars Harper has gone well in the yard so hopefully he can follow in his family’s footsteps with Sam Ewing booked to ride. Ocean Brew is fresh and ready to go, she has a bit of experience and can put that to good use with Jack in the saddle.
For the memorial hurdle we have TULLYBEG and BEAUFORT SCALE. Tullybeg ran very well in the Galway Plate without placing and makes a quick return here with Jordan Gainford booked to ride. Beaufort Scale was a winner last time out and can add more gold here with Jack booked to ride.
Our final runner is THE GREEK and BALLYKEEL. The Greek has top weight here but will be ridden by Carl Millar to counter that who claims 7lbs. Ballykeel needs to up the anty here but goes fresh which should help, Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.
