8 runners make their way to Gowran park today, beginning with FOLCANO in the 2m 4f “Noreside Catering Irish EBF Beginners Chase”. He makes his third start over fences after some promising efforts in Listowel and Galway. He drops back slightly in trip and has a competitive field to content with, but hopefully he can make good use of the experience he has over fences and will really savour the ground conditions. Jack kennedy is in the saddle.

BOULON TROU and EXCELCIOR are the next two representing Cullentra House Stables in the 2nd race. The latter is the mount of Sam Ewing, carrying his customary blinkers. He has finished mid division on both his two runs over fences, with the most recent of them being at Ayr 28 days ago. He has shown glimmers of ability over hurdles in the past and he seems to be getting the hang of the larger obstacles. He is in great form at home and hopefully he can show a good account of himself. BOULON TROU makes only his second start over fences. He finished 8th at Fairyhouse 11 days ago and has form on heavy ground, Jack Kennedy rides.

GEVREY is top weight in the 2m 4f handicap chase, he is an ultra-consistent performer who got off the mark for the fourth time on his penultimate start. He ran a solid race in Down Royal off a career high mark and will appreciate stepping back up in trip today, carrying first time cheek pieces, Davy Russell rides. Also lining up in the 2m 4f Handicap chase is DUNBOYNE, he makes a quick reappearance after failing to go with the rest of the field in Punchestown last Sunday. This is his first start in handicap company, hopefully he can come into his own in this sphere, he has his cheekpieces on and has the asset of Jack Kennedy in the saddle.

IMAGINE is our next runner, he was well touted before securing his bumper in Punchestown last season and was victorious on his reappearance in Wexford on his first start over hurdles. He has learned loads from his first start over hurdles and bids to continue his unbeaten run. This is a competitive field and he has to carry a winners penalty, but he is in great form at home and Jack Kennedy is in the saddle.

The “Proficient Engineering Irish EBF Maiden Hurdle” is the fifth race of the day and we have BLACKWATER lining up. He ran well on his first start in a Punchestown bumper last season and makes his debut over hurdles today. He has been schooling well at home and looks the type of individual that should really improve for the time he has had over the summer and a jump in front of him. Jack Kennedy takes over the reins. Our final runner of the day is BENZ. A winner at Tramore over the summer on good ground, he has been running well in defeat of late. He makes his first start in handicap company off an opening
