Gowran Park

It’s the big day in Gowran as we head down with 10 runners and a reserve.

Our first runner of the afternoon is FAROUK D’ALENE in the Galmoy hurdle. We won this last year with Teahupoo and hopefully we can replicate it this year. It looks a great renewal and we have first time cheekpieces on. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

For the main race of the day we have 6 runners and 1 reserve. DUNBOYNE leads the way and he likes it around here. He was second last year and is Jack Kennedy’s pick. GEVREY loves a staying chase and can be very useful in these. He is probably a bit high in the weights and we have Sam Ewing in the saddle. DIOL KER is the first of the Gigginstown team and will be flanked by FRONTAL ASSAULT and ROYAL THIEF. All have a chance but particularly Frontal. FAKIR D’ALENE was brought down the last day but he is having a good season so far. Danny Gilligan rides and claims 5lbs. Where it all began is first reserve but doesn’t get in.

SAINT FELICIEN goes in the beginners chase. He has gained a bit of experience now and yet again this is another very hot race. Jack Kennedy is booked to ride.

For the opportunity handicap hurdle we have NATHAN WELLS who is having his first run in handicap company. He could be well treated here and Danny Gilligan rides without his claim.

Finally the bumper we have IT’S A BLUE MOON. He is a beautifully bred horse with plenty of stamina on the flat. He is up against another well bred flat horse in Samyr but hopefully Josh Williamson will be able to get the better of him.
