Dublin Racing Festival Day 2 and Musselburgh

Opening the day we have two runners in the mares handicap hurdle which we have a good record in. Leading the way is LIBERTY DANCE who seems to be on a roll and in good form at the moment. She will be ridden by Davy Russell. ROCK ON CASSIE will have plenty to do here today but will have Sam Ewing in the saddle to give her the best chance.

MIGHTY POTTER will have an uphill battle as he single handedly takes on the Willie Mullins team in the Ladbrokes Novices Chase with Davy Russell in the saddle. He may get muddled in a tactical affair facing 5 others all from the same outfit but he has Davy Russell in the saddle who will have to be at his best.

Back to handicap company we have THE GOFFER, INDIGO BREEZE and MARS HARPER in the Grade A chase. The Goffer has been in good form and creeping up the ratings and looks to be off an alright mark here and can hopefully make an impact, Davy rides. Indigo Breeze has been the bridesmaid on a number of occasions now and thankfully we have Sam Ewing doing the riding who is well able to do these lighter weights. Mars Harper has been a trooper this season and can hopefully land a blow in this for connections. He will have Denis O’Regan in the saddle.

For the Champion hurdle we have our hurdle aces as PIED PIPER and ZANAHIYR take to the stage. Pied Piper was a bit lack luster over the festive period but has hopefully got over that and is back to form at home and will have Davy Russell in the saddle. Zanahiyr was another who didn’t fire at Christmas but he has all the skills needed to go well and is in good form at home. He will be ridden by Denis O’Regan.

IRISH POINT has done nothing wrong to date but takes on Facile Vega in the Grade 1 Novices hurdle. If he can run to his form he has every chance to go well in this. It looks a fantastic renewal of this race and Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

For the final handicap of the weekend we have THE TIDE TURNS, AN MHI and FORTUNEDEFORTUNATA. The Tide Turns will want to get a wiggle on as he still seems under the handicappers grasp. This may be tough for him and he will be ridden by Davy Russell. An Mhi has sort of gone backwards a little bit in his form lately but us better than his last run suggests. He will be ridden by Sam Ewing. Fortunedefortunata is another hit and miss character but has a very workable mark and Denis O’Regan in the saddle doing the steering.

Rounding off our weekend at Leopardstown we have MOLLYS MANGO in the mares bumper. We have a good record in this and Molly’s strong front running style may suit it. Jamie Codd is in the saddle.

Over in Musselburgh we send forward two for the Pertemps Qualifer along with Jordan Gainford and Corey McGivern. This looks a hot event where the aim will be to finish fourth or better. THE BOSSES OSCAR is in better form this season and we will be claiming 7lbs off him with Corey McGivern. JAYCEAN is our other runner in this. He was a faller the last day in Leopardstown so we will be hoping for a better performance today with Jordan Gainford in the saddle.
