We kick off proceedings in Downpatrick where we have SIGNORA DI MILANO in the A J C Group Maiden hurdle over 2m2f. This mare is up against the boys here and hopefully she can take a step forward from her stable debut to take the win. This filly is currently for sale and we have Jordan Gainford booked to ride.
For the Ulster Carpets Maiden hurdle we have FAREWELLCHANCER and RINGDUFFERIN. Farewellchancer was a much improved 6th the last day and goes again in maiden company. He will be ridden by Paddy Cleary who claims 7lbs. Ringdufferin has been unlucky to not get his head in front to date and will have Jordan Gainford in the saddle.
In the Dennison Commercials Opportunity Beginners chase we have GRAND ROI and DOUGLAS DC. Grand Roi is having his first start back after a break and this looks a nice place to start him off, he has had three runs over fences to date so has a bit of experience, Kieren Buckley is booked to ride. Douglas Dc is having his first start over fences with Gavin Brouder in the saddle claiming 2lbs. Hopefully the pair can go well.
Our last runner in Downpatrick will be IRISH BLAZE in the A J C Group Handicap chase over 2m2f. This horse ran very well the last day and was involved in a very tight finish. With that in mind we would hope he can go well here with Jordan in the saddle.
Over in Ballinrobe we have three runners in the first, CALICO, SAMUI and JAY JAY ZEE. Calico has had a busy season but has been very consistent. We will claim off her with Carl Millar taking away 7lbs. Samui has a bit of class about him and can hopefully go well here, he is one of the better rated horses and Jack Kennedy will take the ride. Finally Jay Jay Zee is already a winner over hurdles and has first time cheekpieces on, we will also be claiming off him with Jake Coen in the saddle taking off 5lbs.
For the mares maiden hurdle we have HURRICANE HONEY who improved yet again the last day and looks like she could be open to more improvement. She also gets a weight for age allowance and will have Jack Kennedy in the saddle.
Finally our last runner is WHAT AN OCEAN in the 80-95 handicap hurdle over 2m6f. This filly has had a number of entries but the ground hasn’t gone in her favour yet. She is ready to go and can hopefully get a run today with Jack Kennedy in the saddle.
