It was brilliant to get a few winners on the board yesterday to get the ball rolling. LAKOTA BLUE comes to us as a winner from France and could be the one to watch. Sam Ewing has been booked to ride.
We have a whole host of runners in the maiden hurdle where BOSTON ROVER will be the first and should be more exciting in handicap company with Paddy Cleary in the saddle claiming 7lbs. LYGON LAD has his first start on the track and over hurdles, Kevin Sexton takes the ride. The most exciting of this bunch is of course ROMEO COOLIO who has a strong following. This horse has it all to prove and comes here with a big reputation, we have won this in the past with the likes of Envoi Allen and Mighty Potter, Sam takes the ride. YARRAMAN MAKARRATA is another who may find more success in handicaps and will be ridden by Jody McGarvey.
Again in the next, a handicap hurdle we have three runners; KALA CONTI, HARSH and GOLDEN JOY. Kala Conti was a Grade 2 winner last season and can hopefully carry on with the same class and will have Carl in the saddle claiming 7lbs. Harsh has his first run for us and comes to us with plenty of form, Jake Coen takes the ride with 3lbs off. Finally we have Golden Joy who has strengthened up over the winter and can hopefully go well with Sam in the saddle.
There is a nice trio for the handicap chase where we have SHAJAK and VALSORPRESA. Shajak has a really nice profile and could have a nice season ahead of him with Jordan Gainford booked to ride. Finally Valsorpresa who has first time cheekpieces and is upped up to 3m with Carl Millar in the saddle.
The Grade 1 Champion Chase is all class this year as we send forward DELTA WORK and GERRI COLOMBE. Delta Work has been the perfect horse and starts his season here and could well spring a surprise with Donagh Meyler booked to ride. Gerri Colombe had a great season last year and goes all in this year and will have Sam Ewing in the saddle.
FOUND A FIFTY was rock solid last season and starts his season here, a race we’ve had plenty of success in. It’s a great competitive field where Sam takes the ride.
In the bumper we have CLASSICAL CREEK. Crassical is a point to point winner and a smart one at that who will have Harry in the saddle.
Over in Wetherby ROYAL EAGLE looks to pick up some black type in the Listed mares hurdle. She has been busy this season and will have Danny in the saddle.
Another travelling over is BEACON EDGE in the very competitive Grade 2 bet365 hurdle. This should be a nice race for him with Danny booked to ride.
Finally in the Charlie Hall we have the evergreen CONFLATED who can hopefully put the unseat behind him. He suits going lefthanded and Danny Gilligan has been booked to ride.
