We have a very busy day ahead with runners in the UK and Ireland. Over in Cork we start with HELLO JACK in the maiden hurdle. This horse gets in as first reserve and will have Jordan Gainford booked to ride. He is a home bred and is having his first run on the track.
In the next maiden hurdle we have RELIEVED OF DUTIES who was 2nd on his last start and can hopefully show a bit of improvement here. It’s a nice field where he can hopefully go well.
A winner on bottomless ground last season NEON DIAMOND returns in this mares hurdle. She was placed in 2 point to points and will benefit from time. Hopefully she will blossom as the season goes on and she is another runner for Jordan.
It looks a very open beginners chase at the end of the card where we have LIGHTKEEPER. This horse has had three runs in point to points so has experience over the larger obstacles and will round off the day for Jordan.
The day in Cheltenham starts with WINGMEN in the Novice hurdle where he faces three other opponents. Wingmen is a smart horse who can hopefully take the challenge well and will have Sam Ewing in the saddle.
Next up is MEDIA NARANJA in the handicap hurdle over 2m1f. This will be a very competitive race for her to get involved in and we claim with Carl Millar taking away 5lbs. She has good form and race fitness on her side.
The cross country is always a favourite of ours and we send a strong team consisting of DELTA WORK, COKO BEACH, CHEMICAL ENERGY, GEVREY and THE GOFFER. Delta work was last seen in Down Royal where he ran well and we will be claiming off the top weight with Rob James taking off 7lbs. Coko Beach will be a lovely ride for Carl Millar who can take 5lbs away. Chemical Energy is having his first start over these fences but will have schooled over them yesterday he will be the mount of Sam Ewing. Gevrey is now a non-runner. Finally the Goffer is also having his first start over these fences but is a stout stayer and knows his way around Cheltenham with Danny Gilligan booked to ride and claims 3lbs.
