Clonmel Runners

We head to Clonmel today with six runners.

Our first runner of the day is LANDRAKE who makes his hurdling debut in the I.N.H Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle. He has been placed in two out of three bumper runs and the step up in trip should suit. Based on that form he should go close today under Jack Kennedy.

Another making his debut over hurdles today is THE FOUR SIXES in the Connolly’s Red Mills EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle. He was 3rd on his bumper debut at Leopardstown back in March behind Ballybawn Belter. We’re hoping to reverse the form today and he should be in with a good chance under Davy Russell.

DOCTOR CHURCHILL was a smart juvenile last season and although he hasn’t quite fired yet this season we’re hoping that getting him back on Heavy ground could bring out some improvement in him. He runs off a nice mark here today in the Clonmel Oil Service Station Handicap Hurdle and Jack Kennedy is booked to ride.

In todays feature race, the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase, we see the return of PENCILFULLOFLEAD after a long lay off. He does run well fresh and can’t be ruled out in this competitive field of 4. Rachael Blackmore rides.

WOMALKO makes his debut run for the yard since joining us from Robert Tyner. He’s relatively unexposed over fences and is rated 21lb lower than his mark over hurdles. The ground should be to his liking and we’re hoping for a good run from him in the handicap chase. Mark Walsh rides.

Our last runner of the day is SA FUREUR who stands a good chance in the Clonmel Oil Slan Abhaile INH Flat Race. He was 3rd on his bumper debut in Fairyhouse last season and that form has been franked with the 1st and 2nd horses on that occasion having won over hurdles since. He comes into the race in good order and Jamie Codd takes the ride.
