CHELTENHAM and FAIRYHOUSE

We kick off the weekend with 6 runners in Fairyhouse and one in Cheltenham.

WESTERN FOLD is our first runner at Fairyhouse in the beginners chase where he is making his seasonal debut and his first start over fences but he may find more favour in handicap company with Sam booked to ride.

For the rated novice chase we have RAINBOW TRAIL in what looks a very nice competitive field. He was a winner on his chasing debut over 2m4f in Gowran Park and recently put in a solid effort to finish a close third in the Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase at Punchestown behind stablemates Stellar Story and Search For Glory. He should show a good account of himself today under Sam Ewing.

New recruit CHORTAL takes his first attempt over hurdles so we will learn plenty from this. He has a nice pedigree and the trip shouldn’t be an issue. Sam Ewing has been booked to ride.

BOSTON RAJJ has hit the crossbar a few times now but could be well placed here in the novice handicap hurdle. Sam Ewing is booked to ride and can hopefully carry him over the line.

First time headgear goes on MASTERBOY DAVIS which can hopefully spark him up a bit in this maiden hurdle over 2m7f. It’s another nice race where Sam is booked to ride.

Finally in Fairyhouse we have SWING DAVIS in the mares bumper who picked up blacktype on her first start under rules and looks a classy mare for the future. This is a very competitive race to finish on and Harry is booked to ride.

Over in Cheltenham we have the return of the wonderful WODHOOH who was a non-runner the last day but will have to overcome a very long absence. She goes into handicap company for the first time and gives weight away, however we have Danny Gilligan who has a claim over in the UK which will be a huge help to her.
